SELF CARE: MENTAL HEALTH
Self care, in essence, is meant to nurture your mental health. Focusing on diet, movement, and skin nurtures my mental health. Self care benefits my physical health, which translates to my mental health. It is a complete confidence booster and promotes positivity. But as amazing as self care is, strengthening my relationship with God is the best way to nurture my mental and spiritual health.
Self care is something I use to bring myself closer to God. When I am physically taken care of, I am at my best mentally. God wants us to go to Him with our walls down. He wants everything — the good and the bad. I have been able to be so much more forthcoming with God, now that I've prioritized self care. Self care has been so important — God has worked in my life through it.
This year I started reading the New Testament. Reading the Bible has opened my eyes more I than I thought they could be. Every passage is applicable to my life. God speaks to me through His word. He convicts me, He comforts me, and He excites me. God's Word has proven to be alive and absolutely magnifies His presence in our lives! It is so beautiful I can't even describe it. God has filled my spirit with His love. I have such peace in knowing He is on the throne. A face mask and salad will bring me joy, but God's word will fill my spirit. Self care is a beautiful tool, but without God my mental health will suffer.
To end out self care month on OLIVIA GENEVIEVE, I wanted to share some "self care" verses that have spoken to me
